Separation Counselling

Separation counselling is now a necessity in today’s world. With 50 to 60% of couples in first relationships separating and 70 -75% in second relationships, Ruth Simons teaches couples the importance of ending their relationship with mutual respect for one another and the significance of having a cohesive on-going relationship particularly for the mental health of the children involved in divorce and separation. Children suffer with grief and trauma when their family unit breaks down. There are a lot of losses for all concerned... loss of partner, loss of family unit, loss of family home, loss of finance and loss of friendships and social lives. A psychologist's/therapist's role is to be a mediator and give each person tools to deal with the situation effectively.

How Separation Counselling can help you:

  • achieve positive and constructive communication between partners
  • protect dependent children throughout the process
  • maintain respect and minimise trauma
  • having a healthy relationship even when separated
  • dealing with feelings of loss

Retaining respect is critical for moving forward.
