Separation counseling is now a necessity in today’s world. With 50 to 60% of couples in first relationships separating and 70 -75% in second relationships, I teach couples the importance of ending their relationship with mutual respect for one another and the significance of having a cohesive on-going relationship particularly for the mental health of the children involved in divorce and separation. Children suffer with grief and trauma when their family unit breaks down.
There are a lot of losses for all concerned, Loss of partner, loss of family unit, loss of family home, loss of finance and loss of friendships and social lives. My role is to be a mediator and give each person tools to deal with the situation.
